Russian ‘Terrorist’ Arrested By SFC

Presidential guards on Wednesday night arrested a Russian passport holder at the gate of Rwenzori Courts in Nakasero, on suspicion of being a terrorist.

Police said that Leonib Prokhorov, 80, was found camped with lots of garments and Shs 7m. He is believed to have come from the Russian capital Moscow.

“But we are wondering why he never used that money to rent a hotel room instead of sleeping on the streets,” said deputy Police Spokesperson Polly Namaye.

Prokhorov, who speaks only Russian, was being held at the Central police station, as police try to establish the purpose of his visit. Prokhorov reportedly told police that he was touring Africa and he was headed to DR Congo and Zimbabwe.
