Right Cook – Mix Groundnut Sauce With Pawpaw

After this one, you will never look at pawpaw quite the same way…

As a variation, instead of dried pawpaw, you can use cut-up French beans, or nkejje flour (fish powder), or ntula (bitter tomatoes) or mushrooms.


1 mug dried pawpaw (young pawpaw cut in pieces and sundried)

250g pounded groundnuts

2 onions

2 tomatoes

frac12 teaspoon curry powder


1 liter water


Add the powder groundnuts to water and cook for about 20 minutes

Cut the onions and tomatoes

Fry the onions, add the tomatoes

Cook till ready. Add the dry pawpaw and salt

Cook for a further 20 minutes
