PLE: Police arrest impersonator

Sironko. Police in Sironko District are holding a student for alleged impersonation in the on-going Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
Reports from police indicate that the suspect masqueraded as a PLE candidate to sit for his brother at Nakidega Primary School in Buyobo Sub-county.
The Sironko District inspector of schools, Mr Peter Madoi, told Daily Monitor that the suspect was arrested after pupils became suspicious and alerted the invigilator.
He added that it was difficult to believe the pupils because the two boys were identical twins.
“The pupils were able to identify him because they were well acquainted with their fellow pupil but to us it was difficult since they resembled each other,” Mr Madoi said.
Elgon regional police spokesperson Diana Nandawula confirmed the incident saying the suspect would be charged.
