Online Property Dealer, Lamudi Lists 13, 000 Property in Uganda

Lamudi, a global property portal has marked one year in Uganda, a journey which officials say has been successful. Speaking at a dinner in Kampala on Nov. 21 to celebrate the anniversary, Shakib Nsubuga, the country manager for Uganda said they have grown and recorded 60% traffic in Uganda. Lamudi provides detailed information about the availability of property for sale or rent in the markets where they exist via the online means. In Uganda alone, the company’s website has listed over 13, 000 property in the past one year.

“Online marketing is a new era in Uganda but it is growing and improving,” Nsubuga said. He added that the growth in numbers has been facilitated by the high speed data network provided by telecom companies. He added they are planning to launch a toll free line which will be accessed by those people living in areas without the internet. “It will be a matter of them calling in and then we provide them with the information about property markets in the country and beyond,” he said. Beyond Uganda, Lamudi’s global property listings total to more than 670, 000 to buy or rent, spreading across 28 countries around the world.
