One Africa Media CEO wins global award

One Africa Media (OAM)EO Justin Clarke has beaten other companies to win the emerging category award in the prestigious Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur 2014 Awards in Southern Africa. In Uganda, One Africa Media operates both Cheki and Brighter Monday, a car site and jobsite respectively, along with 21 classified sites in more than 10 countries across Africa. Mr Clarke said: “While this award remains an honour, the hard work lies ahead as OAM takes aantage of ‘the perfect storm’ created from the company being ahead on the Internet curve, particularly in Africa where access to fast connectivity only came with the landing of the undersea cables around 2009.” In a joint statement, Cheki Uganda country manager Charles Mugyenzi and Brighter Monday Uganda marketing manager Joshua Mugisha said, “ One Africa Media’s recognition demonstrates the business world’s confidence in the group’s brands which include Brightermonday.co.ug and Cheki.co.ug.
