Nnabagereka aises women on work, family

The Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda, has urged women to balance career and family to live a better life. Speaking at the International Women’s Day feast in Kampala on Friday, organised by Business Day Communications in partnership with NTV, the Nnabagereka said balancing career and family doesn’t come naturally for women, but needs a lot of organisation.

“The benefits of a happy family and a successful career are worth all the efforts required. Whatever motivates you personally, whatever you choose to do in your life, do not expect success in your life without dealing with your family,” the Queen of Buganda said.

“Family is an integral part of our being and women are the backbone of any family. If we are not in that equation, our families will hang in balance or shall not be happy families,” she added. Ms Nagginda who was awarded for her part in developing women in Uganda, said having a happy family is usually associated with money, which is not the case.

The Nnabagereka has through various initiatives, including her flagship ‘Ekisaakate’ been part of Uganda’s women who have strongly aocated a solid moral fabric among the country’s women. She aised that women should use God as their guiding principle in managing family and work.
