Nkumba University students on strike over increased retake fees

Police on Monday morning fired teargas to disperse students of Nkumba University in Entebbe who were striking over increased retake and missed paper fees.
The University management this semester increased retake fees from Shs 100,000 to 200,000 and missed paper fees from Shs20, 000 to Shs100,000.
The students are also protesting the university management’s decision to block all students who did not register from sitting exams. Students at the university are expected to start exams this week.
