It has been three years since Caesar hit the screens in the 2011’s Rise of the Planet Of The Apes.
The movie surpassed expectations and its sequel delivers on its promises and leaves us wanting more. And we definitely hoped we would get another one.
This time round, there is a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar which is being threatened by a band of human survivors suffering from a virus unleashed a decade earlier. They have to reach a fragile peace. But it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who emerges as Earth’s dominant species.
It is the ape in the man and the man in the ape that is at the heart of this dazzling sequel, whose sheer scale and extraordinary effects will leave you catching your breath. Talk of apes riding on horseback. But in a way, it also takes away the real part of the movie.
As I am a great fan of these ape movies, I believe the chapter needs to be changed in the next installment to get the realism back as was the case in the previous ape movies. You can catch the movie this evening at The Hub cinema at Oasis mall.
