Monitor vows to stick to truth

Kampala- Monitor Publications Limited (MPL) will never deviate from the principle of truthfulness and will live by its motto of “Truth Everyday” in all the work it does, the board chairperson, Dr Simon Kagugube, has said.

Dr Kagugube, who was speaking during the visit of Buganda’s premier at MPL headquarters in Namuwongo, also told the Katikkiro and publication’s audience that the organisation would always make corrections in case it errs.

He said MPL was committed to promoting the truth about anybody irrespective of anything.

“Our commitment is to publish the truth everyday about the kingdom of Buganda, the work of the office of the Katikkiro, other kingdoms and the rest of Uganda,” Dr Kagugube said.

The board chairman also thanked the Katikkiro for mobilising the people of Buganda to be an integral part in the development of the country, noting that his visit to the company was a big testament to culturally diverse Uganda.

In his private capacity, Dr Kagugube contributed Shs1 million towards the kingdom projects besides the Shs6.4 million contributed by MPL management and staff.

Mr Mayiga commended MPL for depicting media independence in the country and called upon media houses to stand firm and defend their independence.He appreciated the Nation Media Group affiliates in Uganda like Ddembe Fm, Kfm, NTV and the Daily Monitor for giving the kingdom coverage.
