Miss Teen Goes East

The search for Mirinda Miss Teen Star 2014 heads to Eastern Uganda this weekend.

All day Saturday, close to 20 secondary schools will assemble at Wanyange Girls School to contest for slots at the grand finale. The top three in the Miss Teen Star category will represent the entire eastern cluster at the grand finale.

Then winners in the Miss Brainy, Miss Fashionista and Miss Entrepreneurship will represent the cluster in their respective categories. The idea of the cluster is to gives an opportunity to as many schools as possible to take part in this teenage girls’ competition since the organisers cannot go to every single school.

Last year ten schools flocked to Parvatiben Muljibhai Madhvani Girls School, also known as PMM. At the end of the day, Media Ketayu from St Noa Mawagali blew the judges away with her confidence and voice when she did a cover of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.

She represented the Jinja cluster alongside Martha Nafula from PMM and Sylvia Kiden from Njeru SS. The trio did not fare so well at the finale but hopefully the cluster will get even ger representatives this year. Top comedians and singers Mun G and Irene Ntale will provide the day’s entertainment.
