Kampala Mayor Erias Lukwago and a group of other politicians has been blocked by police and KCCA enforcement team from attending ettofali fundraising campaign led by Buganada Katikkiro , Charles Peter Mayiga.
Mr Lukwago and a group of other councillors had on Thursday morning gone to KCCA headquarters to welcome Mr Mayiga as part of his (Lukwago’s) official duties as a mayor.
However, police led by the Kampala Metropolitan police operations commander, Mr Sam Omala blocked Mr Lukwago and his group which included Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante and Councillors like Mr Allan Ssewanyana and Shifra Lukwago, among others.
Mr Omala said he could not allow Mr Lukwago and his group to attend the function because they are not KCCA technocrats.
“This meeting is not for politicians like you. It for the Katikkiro and the KCCA technocrats only,” Mr Omala said.
However, the politicians have refused to leave the KCCA gate as they wait for the Katikkiro to come out.
