Kenzo, Navio Lose – Zari Wins

Well, Kenzo and Navio were nominated for the Best East African video at the just-concluded Channel O Music Video awards.

They were tussling it out against Tanzania’s Diamond Platinum. Since Zari announced the Number One singer as the lead performer at her annual White party, she has done her best to show him off as her latest accessory.

This time, the socialite carried her kajanja to the awards red carpet, holding hands with the Tanzanian, said to be her latest beau. He turned out to be the night’s biggest winner, beating his two Ugandan competitors and also “falsely” claiming a gong for best new act (I mean, dude was nominated for this same award at the MAMAs in 2010! Shya!)

But as the awards came, Zari celebrated more than the actual winner the way she held and posed with the gongs!

If her latest stunt does not deflate ex-boyfriend Ivan Ssemwanga’s ego, then nothing will.

Artistes redo John Lennon’s Imagine:

Lilian Mbabazi, Peter Miles, Benon Mugumbya, Mun*G, Irene Ntale and Navio have redone John Lennon’s legendary socially-sensitive hit, Imagine. The song is part of Unicef’s Imagine Campaign, aimed at raising awareness of child rights.

The rendition is meant to generate public awareness and raise funds to support the cause. The version of the song has already been uploaded on YouTube and rapper Navio is over the moon for being part of the project.
