Cooper and G Way held another edition of their charity shows on Easter Sunday at Serena hotel.
Cooper, the founder and leader of the gospel group, performing with eight other talented vocalists, continued to prove that Church has a lot of talent the world is yet to discover. For this year’s concert, American singer Anthony Faulkner, who has been here numerous times, was one of the guest performers.
The night’s biggest moment was when Faulkner got on stage to perform the remix of Faith, which he recorded with G Way in 2011. Clearly Faulkner enjoyed jamming on the African drums and being backed by the gifted vocalists. The freestyle moment had the audience singing along.
The group based at Miracle Centre Lubaga, which has produced big names such as Exodus, also performed their songs Makondeere, Sibiwuliranga, Emigugu Gyo, and Move Your Mountain, among others.
Watching them perform is so beautiful, with all dressed in vibrant African fabric and singing their hearts out for the Lord. Each of the vocalists has immense ability to succeed as a solo artiste and the way they gel is ‘eargasmic.’
Naava Grey also took to the stage to perform One In A Million before Charmant Mushanga did an acoustic version of his song, Ni Yesu (He is Jesus).
All proceeds from the concert went to Empowerment of Disaantaged Youth and Children (EDYAC), a Christian-based NGO dedicated to giving disaantaged children and youth a dignified life.
Last year’s concert helped at least 20 children get medical care. Pastor Jessica Kayanja kicked off the fundraising with Shs 2m.
