Kampala Fashion Week (KFW) was set up to promote Ugandan and African fashion designers in a global market.
The main activity is to support and strengthen Uganda and other East African countries’ reputation for developing design excellence. The main event takes place this weekend.
The grand finale taking place tomorrow evening was preceded by seminars at Goethe-Zentrum (German Cultural Centre). Gloria Wavamunno, KFW’s artistic director, was one of the key speakers at the networking seminars where success stories and experiences within the fashion industry were shared.
The show kicks off at 6pm at Kololo ceremonial grounds. Some of Uganda’s top designers are lined up to showcase their works. Designs from labels such as Kwesh, Kas Wear, Eguana, Martha Jabo, Sylvia Owori and JampKainembabazi will grace the runway donned by Uganda’s cregraveme de la cregraveme of the modelling industry.
