Deputy Mayor of Kampala Aises the Somali Community in Uganda to Unite

The Deputy Mayor of Kampala, Allan Kajik aised the members of the Somali Community in Kampala to unite so that they can prevent the insecurity that is associated with them regarding terror activities.

He added that the Ugandan Government wouldn’t tolerate any person who has the intent to do any harm in Uganda. Allan Kajik was speaking at a security meeting at Kampala’s Kisenyi area where many of its residents are Somalis. He aised the members of the Somali community to report to the security forces of any suspects of insecurity. Earlier there were reports that the Somali ambassador to Uganda Sayid Ahmed Sheikh Dahir divides the Somalis who live in Kampala therefore Deputy Mayor of Kampala, Allan Kajik said he will soon summon him and aise him to unite with the Somali Community and to work with them in a non-partisan manner.

The Chairperson of the Somali Community in Kampala Hassan Hussien Abuukar who also spoke at the meeting said it is unfortunate that the ambassador divides that Somali community. On the other hand, the officer in charge of the Old Kampala Police Station, Emmanuel Ochamringa said they will not accept the ambassador to import clan politics and clan conflicts from Mogadishu.

Mr. Emanuel added that division among Somali clans caused widespread insecurity in Kisenyi. He said Somali youths were arrested in the Old Kampala Police station who later on transferred to Luzira Prison.
