Nigerian superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, commonly known by his stage name Davido, is set to perform at Freedom City, along Entebbe road, Saturday evening.
This is the second time he is coming to Uganda. His first concert, The Battle of Titans, that took place late last year alongside Jose Chameleone, was a big flop. This could be the long-awaited redemption, since Nigerian music and himself have become more popular since the last time he was here.
In a recent video posted online, the singer says he was itching to come and entertain his fans and that he would be giving them the best show East Africans have ever seen. Davido launched his career in 2011 when he co-produced and released a song titled Dami Duro, which was well received throughout Nigeria and most of West Africa.
The singer is now known for hit songs like Skelewu, Aye and has ‘collabos’ with several African artistes. He also has a song called Tchelete which features South Africa’s Mafikizolo.
Davido has scooped several awards that include a BET award, a Kora award, a Channel O Music Video award, a Ghana Music award, a Nigeria Music Video award, two MTV Africa Music awards, two African Muzik Magazine awards, three The Headies awards, seven Nigeria Entertainment awards and two Dynamix All Youth Awards, among others.
Pallaso, Eddy Kenzo and Prof Big Eye are some of the top musicians expected to curtain-raise for the Nigerian star. Tickets cost Shs 20,000 and 50,000 VIP.
