Kampala. The Constitutional Court has thrown out the petition in which the West Budama North MP, Mr Fox Odoi, was seeking court to declare the actions of the NRM electoral commission unconstitutional.
In a ruling delivered by the assistant registrar, Ms Joyce Kavuma, on behalf of a panel of three Justices, Steven Kavuma, Elizabeth Musoke, and Cheborion Barishaki, said Mr Odoi’s petition has been overtaken by events, as it is now virtually impossible for the respondent (NRM electoral commission) to choose a flag bearer since nominations for the parliamentary seats start today.
Shortly after the ruling, Mr Odoi told Daily Monitor that his nomination papers were ready and he was going to be nominated today at 4pm.
But, he was quick to add that the battle has just begun and that he knew well that he would be the winner in the final elections.
