A day so delicate Uganda hang on it for dear life. Today’s match against Ghana is one that Cranes have no option but to win.
A Cranes victory will see them go into the final day away to Guinea next Wednesday with a shout at ending the 37 years absence from the Nations Cup finals. Ghana currently top Group E standings with eight points, two more than Togo and four ahead of Uganda and Guinea.
Coach Micho Sredojevic’s men will hope to beat Ghana and pray for a draw in the other group E game between Togo and Guinea in Lome.
A Uganda victory at Namboole and an assumed stalemate in Lome will move the Cranes and Togo to seven points apiece – one behind Ghana. Guinea would stay bottom with five points.
With Ghana hosting Togo and Uganda travelling to Morocco to face Guinea on the final day, the two teams to win would then progress to the JanuaryFebruary continental finals.
Guinea would, however, have to put up a cricket score in the event that Ghana lose to Togo and they beat Uganda.
