Chameleone for Kenyan Charity Gig

He was AWOL at the recent Club Mega Fest. Apparently he was doing a series of performances in South Sudan.

News coming in is that Uganda’s self-proclaimed number one musician has been booked for a charity event in Nairobi, Kenya. He will be performing at the first edition of the Athi festival next weekend. He will share the stage with Kenyan heavyweights such as Sauti Sol, Bahati, DJ Creme de la Creme, Mc Mzazi Willy Tuva (Citizen TVRadio), Kisella Hillman (UKKenyan artiste), and many more.

The festival is organised by The Wattle Blossom Lodge. Its purpose is to bring fun-loving Kenyans together to support the less fortunate through music while raising awareness on the issue of homelessness. A percentage of the proceeds from the two-day event (Saturday and Sunday) will go towards supporting the Mama Upendo orphanage in Kenya’s Kitui county.

Music aside, the promise is to have the finest nyama choma as well as an array of both East and West African cuisine on the day. There will also be various bonfire-lit hideouts set up next to Athi river to complete the ‘camp-in-the-wild’ ambience, according to a statement from the organisers.

Jose Chameleone is one of the most-loved artistes in East Africa and is very popular in Kenya. Folks down there will undoubtedly have a blast with Uganda’s finest. His new hit single Wale Wale is currently getting a lot of airplay in the region.
