Celebrating 20 Years of Crane Bank

In Uganda, a lot of businesses start and close without reaching their first anniversary. So, for one to clock two decades is no mean feat by any measure. That is why Crane bank pulled all stops to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The bank’s proprietor, Sudhir Ruparelia, surely knows how to throw a mega bash this one was hosted at Kabira Country Club in Bukoto.

Topnotch businesspeople attended the invite-only event. Among them was Patrick Bitature, Godfrey Kirumira and also the state minister for economic monitoring, Henry Banyenzaki. But it was more than a business event the cocktail setting with the band playing in the background set the mood for informal catching up, eating, drinking, exchanging business cards and merrymaking.

There was too much to eat and drink to the extent that even by the time guests started leaving at the end of the event, the chefs were still busy and the waiters did not stop ferrying in delicacies like chicken tikka, fish cakes and chicken shawarma, among others.

When the bank’s acting managing director P K Gupta got to speak, he thanked the bank’s loyal customers and its dedicated employees that earn the right every day to be the customers’ first choice, by delivering trusted aice to help them achieve their financial goals.

He also noted that the bank that has a growing footprint of 44 branches won its ninth bank of the year award last year in London.

Comedian Mendo ‘Museveni’ provided some comic relief, claiming it’s only him, Sudhir and a few other Ugandans that have vision. He also officiated at the handover of prizes to the night’s lucky winners. The event went on till late.
