Big Brother – the Heat Is On

It is week five and things are getting hotter in the Big Brother Hotshots house.

Our housemate, Stellah Nantumbwe (Ellah), is finally out of her shell, being more active without giving the pageant queen attitude many were afraid of. She is getting some buzz online from a wide section of Africans and East Africa loves her.

But this week, Ellah may need a lot of that support as she comes up for eviction in what may be her biggest challenge since this season premiered on October 5. As you may have noticed, both the viewers and housemates have turned themselves into moralists of sorts this season and this may find Ellah on the wrong side.

She has been best friend – nothing more, she insists – to married Ghanaian Kacey Moore, raising eyebrows across Africa by how close and affectionate the two are. And for all his efforts, Kacey Moore was rejected by Africa and shown the exit on Sunday, presumably for getting too close to the Ugandan beauty in spite of his marital status.

This is indeed a far cry from season two’s married Tanzanian Richard, who was rewarded with the grand prize of $200,000 for having a steamy relationship in the house with Angola’s Tatiana. Once Kacey was gone and Ellah was bawling her eyes out for him, she was nominated for eviction by a section of housemates that misinterpreted her relationship with the Ghanaian as romantic.

In the Saturday extravaganza, Ellah’s rap skills could not bail out her team, Urban Pulse they lost to the Downtown Beats, sending the former Miss Uganda and her team into the nominations pool.

This week’s nomination pits her against Canada-based Rwandan Frankie, who survived eviction at the expense of funnyman Arthur – the Ugandan from Rwanda. Ellah and Frankie’s nomination means the East African vote is divided this week so, Ugandans everywhere vote! We need that $300,000 coming home.

The show has less than thirty days to wrap up and some people have never been up for eviction, thanks to the extravaganza arrangement that Zim girl Butterphly, is as boring as they come, but always finds herself on the winning team. East Africa has already lost five g contenders in Arthur, Kenya’s Sabina and Alusa, Tanzania’s Laveda and our own loudspeaker Esther.

After nominating Ellah for flirting with Kacey, the annoying Namibian Permithias came out of the diary room and kissed her on the shoulder, and offered to share beds with her. Those jealous dudes must have been happy to see Kacey go!

Ellah, Frankie, Trezegah (Mozambique), Butterphly (Zimbabwe), Permithias and Nhlanhla (South Africa) are all at risk of eviction, come Sunday. Type “Vote Ellah” and SMS to 8884 on all mobile phone networks, or vote free on the DStv website and on WeChat to save our beauty with a purpose.
