Airtel Adopts Ugandan Primary School

Airtel Uganda has adopted Sseke Primary School in Lwengo District, approximately 36 kilometres out of Masaka Town in central Uganda.

Airtel, started the Adopt-A-School initiative, practiced in all Airtel Africa operational countries, to revamp and improve facilities.

According to Charity R. Bukenya, the Airtel Uganda Corporate Social Responsibility Manager “We believe that quality education is not only the most important tool for social -economic development of Uganda but also a vital weapon in the fight against poverty.

“By adopting a school we are not only providing children with an opportunity that they may not have had before, but igniting their curiosity and fueling their learning,” Bukenya said.

Airtel Uganda Supply Chain Director, Patrice Namisano, said they adopt a school every year in Uganda to illustrate the g commitment they have towards development of the country.
