16 dead, 24 injured in Nimule-Juba road accident

Sixteen people have been confirmed dead and 24 others severely injured following a bus accident at Nistu, 35 Kilometers from Juba town this morning.
A bus registration number UAS, 073P belonging to Bakulu Coaches which the deceased and the injured persons were traveling in had a head on collision with trailer registration Number UAD, 300 E.
The trailer was travelling from South Sudan to Kampala while Bakulu bus was heading to Juba, the capital of S.Sudan.

Aswa region Police spokesperson, Mr Jimmy Patrick Okema, confirmed the accident, adding that Ugandan police are still getting reports from their counter parts in South Sudan on the condition of the injured.
“The injured persons were rushed to Juba Hospital where they are receiving treatment as we talks now,” he said.
In July Bakulu bus injured 16 passengers on board along Atiak Nimule highway. This month, several passengers were injured along Gulu-Atiak road, when the bus they were travelling in overturned.
The bus belonging to Friendship Bus Company registration Number UAU had 35 passengers on board and was from Ajumani to Kampala, when it over turned at Gulu Primary School in Bardege Division Gulu Municipality along Gulu- Juba Highway. End
