15 -year- old girl raped, killed

Kalangala. Police in Kalangala District have arrested four boys accused of raping and later killing a 15- year- old girl. The victim, a pupil at Bridge of Hope Nursery and Primary School, was said to be returning from an introduction ceremony at Mwena Landing Site in Kalangala Town Council at around midnight last Saturday when the suspects waylaid her.
The suspects reportedly raped and later strangled her.
According to Kalangala police community liaison officer James Nandu, the girl was also sodomised before she breathed her last.
“Since the four are minors and still in police custody, we are not allowed to reveal their names, but what we can confirm is that the post-mortem was done and it indicated that she was raped, sodomised and later strangled,” Mr Nandu revealed.
The officer in charge of Criminal Investigations in Kalangala District, Mr Chris Yashaba, said although the suspects are still below 18 years, they will be produced in court on charges of murder and rape.
Statistics from Kalangala police indicate that four children have been raped in a space of 3 months.
