Nkumba in driving seat, St Lawrence falter

Nkumba Select took aantage of Mubs’ absence to create some earn secure some comfort at the top of the Pepsi Beach Soccer League Hurriken Group. The Entebbe side defeated Fisheries 5-2 at Lido Beach on Sunday to move to 24 points, three ahead of Mubs.

Mubs requested to be left out of action at the weekend because a busy study schedule meaning they will now have to play catch up. Luckily for them, defending champions St Lawrence continued to falter following a 2-1 loss to Buwanika Bulls.

St Lawrence’s third loss now means they are virtually out of contention for the group’s top spot. In the Monsoon Group, Stormers edged Zaba Supermarket 1-0 in a post-match penalty shoot-out following a 3-all regulation time draw.

Abdul Karim scored four goals as Real Galacticos hammered Richmond Strikers while KIU fell to Kira Young 3-6.
